Kevin Perla is a sophomore set to graduate in 2029. He was born in Honduras but lives in Durham NC. He has always loved journalism and has interned for several news media outlets that focuses on the Latino community. Kevin is excited to write and learn more. After graduation Kevin wants to become an Immigration Attorney and a News Anchor.

Arantxa Taberneiro was born and raised in Venezuela, where she fell in love with sports through horseback riding at a young age. Writing has always been a way of expressing herself—especially through poetry and rhythm. She is passionate about public relations and loves seeing how stories, sports, and creativity can help brands and communities grow. She is fascinated by the world of sports, fashion, and entertainment, and she enjoys sharing what’s happening behind the scenes in these fields.

Elisabeth Porch is a junior, born in St. Louis, Missouri, but has lived in North Carolina since October 2024. She loves reading and writing, and that is where she found her passion for editing, which is what she hopes to do as a career. Elisabeth is eager to learn more about journalism and gain some experience in the field. In her free time, she can be found drawing, doing various crafts, or spending time with her family.

Maria Jose Zúñiga is a freshman from Pittsboro, North Carolina, originally from Cali, Colombia. She is a Communications major with a focus in Public Relations and a minor in Spanish. She has always loved writing and expressing herself through words, especially through journaling and creative writing. Outside of writing, Maria Jose enjoys dancing, baking, and volunteering in her community. She is excited to be part of the newspaper and looks forward to using her love for storytelling to connect with others and learn more about journalism.

I am from Monroe, NC. I’m majoring in Psychology in the Pre-Physician Associate track. Some personal interests that I enjoy are paintings, being creative, photography, eating at new places, reading, and singing! What excites me about joining The Triangle is being able to be a voice for the community and able to shine light and bring things to life in writing. I’m excited to show an importance on how certain things in our community can be impactful and also introduce to people how literature can move people in various ways.

My name is Joshua Carr; however, I go by my initlals of Jc. I was born in Philadelphia but spent most of my adolescence in my hometown of Raleigh, North Carolina. I’m focusing on the field of Political Science with a minor in Sociology, with prospects of providing a voice to underprivileged and urban communities. Some of my personal interests include poetry, photography, and public speaking. I am a current member of the Wingates Track and Field team. With the Wingate Triangle, I look forward to being able to network and give students a louder platform to voice their interests, concerns, and views on campus.
