Kevin Perla is a sophomore set to graduate in 2029. He was born in Honduras but lives in Durham NC. He has always loved journalism and has interned for several news media outlets that focuses on the Latino community. Kevin is excited to write and learn more. After graduation Kevin wants to become an Immigration Attorney and a News Anchor.

Chirley Rivera discovered her love for photography in high school, where she first learned the power of capturing a moment. Now a sophomore at Wingate University studying secondary English education with a minor in Spanish and communication. Rivera brings that same passion to campus hoping to document the diversity and individuality of Wingate’s student body. For her, photographing someone is more than an art form; it’s an honor.

Peyton Webb found her passion for journalistic writing in high school when she joined yearbook her freshman year. After graduation, she plans to teach english and yearbook at a high school level. Outside of school, she loves going to concerts and spending time with her friends and family.

Silas Almond is a sophomore from Albemarle, N.C. He is excited to write for The Triangle as his first experience with news writing. Silas’s major is currently undecided, but he is likely going to major in communication with a focus on journalism. In Silas’s free time, he enjoys playing video games, TTRPGs and guitar.

Arantxa Taberneiro was born and raised in Venezuela, where she fell in love with sports through horseback riding at a young age. Writing has always been a way of expressing herself—especially through poetry and rhythm. She is passionate about public relations and loves seeing how stories, sports, and creativity can help brands and communities grow. She is fascinated by the world of sports, fashion, and entertainment, and she enjoys sharing what’s happening behind the scenes in these fields.


Kamden Barnhill

Kamden Barnhill is a sophomore from Greenville, S.C., but has only lived in the South for approximately 4 years, having been born and raised mostly in Bloomington, IN. Growing up he was very involved in the local culture around Bloomington, getting to learn about supporting local and small businesses, LGBTQ+ history, and climate change. In those years, he found his passion for learning about local happenings and what is happening in communities.

Nevaeh Burkes is a senior from Virginia and a staff writer with aspirations of becoming a social media manager and multi-business owner. Coming from a long line of writers, she draws inspiration from her background and channels her creativity into her work. She is passionate about storytelling and self-expression, both in journalism and beyond. Outside of writing, Nevaeh enjoys dancing, creating short stories, and exploring her love for cooking.

Lisa Caceres is a junior from Buenos Aires, Argentina, but has lived in North Carolina since 2016. When she isn’t writing, she’s usually at a movie theater, reading, or trying a new coffee shop. She is excited to grow as a journalist and share stories that matter to the Wingate community.
