Wingate — The Wingate University women’s soccer team started the 2023 season strong with a 2-0 shutout win at Barton College Thursday in Wilson, N.C.

“(Graduate Student) Caroline Peters perfectly crossed the ball in off of a corner kick, and I was in a position where I was able to get on the end of it and head it in,” Cristy said of the second half goal, assisted by freshman Angela Maino.
Wingate finished 11-5-4 overall last season and played in the SAC tournament championship game. The Dogs will continue their quest for a SAC title when they travel to Mt. Olive Wednesday.
